Before a Typhoon:
Build an emergency kit and make a family emergency plan.
Know your surroundings.
Learn community hurricane evacuation routes and how to find higher ground.
Make plans to secure your property.
During a Typhoon:
Listen to the radio or TV for information and keep your weather radio handy.
Secure your home, close storm shutters and secure outdoor objects or bring them indoors.
Stay indoors during the hurricane and away from windows and glass doors.
Evacuate if needed.
After a Typhoon:
Wash your hands with soap and water if you have been in floodwater. If you don’t have soap or water, use alcohol-based wipes or sanitizer.
Do not enter a damaged building until local authorities determine it is safe.
Watch out for fallen power lines that may be hanging overhead.
Throw away food that may have come in contact with flood or storm water.
